week 5 Final Observations on mico aquarium

During the final week of observations the first thing that was visibly noticeable before i even put it under the microscope was the water level. I filled it up at the end of every observation and this time the water level dropped around 25%. This could be due to the water source of the mead quarry. The movement around the moss has continued to increase with Euchlanis. The main movement originally was in and around the mud although this week the movement in the mud has decreased. The moss and mud have been slowly been disappearing throughout the whole experiment and have been the two main sources of food minus the week the food pellet was placed into the aquarium. The other grassy like plant has still remain untouched and unharmed. Organisms are starting to die off and being fed on by other organisms. The main ones i noticed getting fed on were Euchlanis feeding on dead seed shrimp.

week 4 micro aquarium observations

Every week in the aquarium all life forms have doubled in quantity. All the life forms are still growing drastically. The moss is being consumed constantly and is almost completely gone. Also the moss has changed from green to brown which is showing death inside the plant. Cilia is easily identified all over the aquarium. The most noticeable organism inside are paramecium.

Week 3 micoaquarium

This week inside the microaquarium the moss plant is beginning to be broken down by life inside the aquarium. One betta pellet was added in the water and is causing life forms to grow drastically. During the first two week no life forms were found around the other plant or in or around the mud in the bottom of the aquarium, however now there are life forms appearing all over now.

week 2 mico aquarium

This week life is visible inside the aquarium mainly around the moss. Formations of new life are visible around the moss. These were both noticed through the lowest objective. Once the objective was changed to the higher objective growth was more noticeable. No life is visible around the other plant yet.

week 1 micro aquarium

I used water from the meads quarry with partial shade exposure. Four  different layers of water were added the bottom layer consisted of mainly mud. Then 3 layers of water were added after the layer of mud.  The final step was to add two plants one a moss and the other a type of grassy vine. During the first look around my mico aquarium no life was visible.
